Dear Panther Parents,
Welcome to the Pomeroy PTA and the 2017/18 school year. The PTA (Parent Teacher Association) on a local level is a non-profit collaborations or Parents, Teachers, Students, Staff and administration who sponsor various events, fund raise and provide overall support for Marshall Pomeroy Elementary. On a state and federal level PTA is acts as an advocate for students and families; working with lawmakers to ensure that our children get the support they need to receive a quality education.
Our PTA's mission is to provide a school community that will help our children build a brighter future for themselves. The funds raised by the PTA are often used to provide the tools and events that help them do just that. Unfortunately our district is unable to provide for all of our schools needs; PTA tries to fill in the gaps. In the past, Pomeroy's PTA has raised money to provide laptops that are needed to ensure testing success, playground equipment, etc.
In order to be a sucessful PTA we need parents like you. The first step is joining the PTA. Our annual membership fee is just $10.00 per member and it comes with great benefits. www.PTA.org/members. If you can make a meeting, volunteer (some items only take 10-30 minutes and many items can be done off school grounds) and/or participate in the events and efforts we organize there is no doubt we will continue the strong tradition of making Pomeroy a great community to belong to.
